Algonquin has the unique opportunity of being located in both Kane and McHenry Counties and served by two school districts. District 300 and 158 offer families in Algonquin access to world-class education with one-of-a-kind career and vocational programs that prepare students for a successful life after their time in high school.

Community Unit School District 300, a large district generally along and east of Randall Rd.

Consolidated School District 158 is headquartered in Algonquin, and the schools on the Square Barn Road campus serve the village's far western side, as well as portions of neighboring communities Huntley and Lake in the Hills.
